Bathory Prize 2009
The Báthory Prize is awarded by the Hungarian National Council of Transylvania, led by Bishop Laszlo Tőkés, outbraker of the Revolution from 1989, to those persons and organizations who contributed most to the re-establishment of the Hungarian higher education in Romania, or contributed to the success of the fight for this aim.
This year the Prize was awarded on 10.06.2009 at the Hungarian Academy of Science in Budapest to: - the MIDAS, - the President of the Hungarian Parliament: Katalin Szili, - the former minister for education of the Romanian government: Demény Lajos, - the president of the Bolyai Organization from Hungary: Barna Zsigmond, - the president of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry: Kristóf Szatmáry, - two businessmen Vilmos Lázár and - György Vermes.
